Notes:

This epic walk traverses the Wollemi National Park from north to south.

It is expected to take 18 days to travel from the northern-most part of the Wollemi National Park, next to the Goulburn River, to its southern-most extremity at Kurrajong Heights.

The point-to-point distance for the walk is 128 kilometres. To negotiate the rugged terrain the party will actually cover 240 kilometres, almost double the point-to-point distance.

The walkers will need to average about 13 kilometres per day. The longest day will be about 25 kilometres. The shortest day will be about 7.5 kilometres.

The walk will be broken into 3 stages. At the end of each stage the walkers will be met by Club Members who will carry in supplies for the next stage.

Epilog:

The Wollemi North-South Traverse ended successfully on 20 September 2012 when the walkers emerged from the bush at Kurrajong Heights. They had walked from the northern-most part of the Wollemi through to the southern-most part in 18 days.

Their GPS showed they covered 279kilometres over the 18 days and with 12,626 metres of ascent. Along the way they took photos and made notes, synchronised to the GPS data.
